About Dr. E
Dr. Marcela Eppelsheimer, or “Dr. E,” was born in Colombia, South America. It was there she discovered her passion for veterinary medicine. She loved spending time at her uncle’s farm and hanging out with all the animals. Dr. E and her family moved to the United States in her early teen years.
During high school she volunteered at animal shelters and rescue organizations. Dr. E graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in zoology and then worked for a couple of years with marine mammals and as a veterinary technician. Dr. E then started her veterinary education in 2012 at Ross University of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year back at her alma mater the University of Florida. Dr. E graduated with a Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Since then she has worked in general practice and shelter medicine.
She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has special interest in dermatology, soft tissue surgery, hospice care and the human-animal bond. Her main goal is to create the best treatment plan possible with both pet and owner in mind.
Dr. E is married to Dr. Andrew Eppelsheimer, whom she met on her first day of veterinary school. They share their home with Trout, a rescue lab, Buoy, a German Shorthaired Pointer and Casper, a short haired cat. They also have two beautiful daughters Amelia and Elena. When not in the clinic, you can find her caring for her daughters, doing arts and crafts or on a boat with her family.
