About Dr. Remke
Growing up in Nashville, Tennessee, Jack spent all of his free time outside playing backyard baseball with his brothers and going fishing in the Harpeth River with his friends. Jack developed a love for animals at a young age by caring for his childhood pets – an Old English Sheepdog named Abigail, a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier named Teagan, a Himalayan cat named Chelsea, and a guinea pig named Lilly. It was not until his senior year of high school that he determined he wanted to become a veterinarian. The summer after graduating high school, he began working as a veterinary assistant at a small animal hospital in Belle Meade, Tennessee.
Dr. Remke attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, for his undergraduate studies. While on Rocky Top, Jack attended many football games, made great friendships through his fraternity, and furthered his knowledge of animals and veterinary medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in May 2021 and began veterinary school at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine (UTCVM) later that fall.
Dr. Remke loved his time in Knoxville but always had a desire to live in Charleston due to the coastal outdoor lifestyle of the area. During his clinical year of veterinary school, Jack participated in two externships at Marsh Tide Veterinary Hospital. During those four weeks, he recognized the quality of both the medicine and the people at the hospital and knew that he wanted to practice medicine there.
He graduated from UTCVM in May 2025 and moved to Charleston the following month with his best friend, his 4-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer named Sage. Dr. Remke is particularly drawn to the soft tissue surgery, anesthesiology, radiology, and cardiology aspects of veterinary medicine.During his free time, you can find him on the beach with Sage, rooting on his favorite sports teams (Tennessee Vols, Baltimore Orioles, and Tennessee Titans) or hiking around the many trails in the area.
